picture adverts
I’ve been learning about the wonderful world of online advertising. I’ve found that there is a lot of details I didn’t know about how things work, even if I had a vague sense of it all. I mean, I understand that advertisers pay publishers and all–it’s just all of the minutia with which I’m acquainting myself.
So as an experiment, I will post a picture of mine (from flickr.com) using adbrite.com’s BritePic service. Here goes:
Ok, so that didn’t go too well. I’ll mess around more later.
Here’s the pic anyway.

As far as online advertising is concerned, co-strahotski.com founder Rob, aka The Technonaut, is a genius. Through a combination of getting the strahotski name ‘out there’ (i.e., wikipedia, imdb, random related forums), and putting ads (google ads, ebay ads, amazon ads) on the site, strahotski.com is paying for itself – and it looks like it may even be able to turn a profit. I won’t pretend to understand the intricacies of it all, but I will be enjoying the extra cash flow.
